FRP cooling tower meaning is fiberglass reinforced plastic cooling tower innovated in a special way for heat exchange allowing air and water to come into contact with each other to the lower temperature of hot water. FRP cooling tower working is mechanically considered as heat rejection device where wase heat will be rejected to the atmosphere through the aid of a cooling water stream towards a lower temperature.
FRP cooling tower is commonly applied in oil refineries, chemical plants, petrochemical plants, thermal power stations and for cooling buildings through HVAC systems. This cooling towers could be either in natural draft or induced draft.

What are FRP Cooling Towers Used for?
Basically, FRP cooling towers are designed for rejecting and disposing heat from chillers. It is less efficient for air cooled chillers than water cooled chillers because of the rejection of heat from water in the twer to near wet-bulb temperatures

SQUARE FRP COOLING TOWERS DFC-60 Series
Square cooling towers operate upon induced draft counter flow principle. These light weight, tough and compact cooling towers are modular in nature to help design a customized structure to suit the customer’s requirement.
The mechanism of Square cooling towers comprising of design, axial flow fan, casing, basin, fills, motors, splash caps, water distribution, etc. functions and delivers superior performance results. Immense flexibility is brought in by the multi-cell cooling towers, which may be tailor-made as per individual’s duty conditions and space availability.
The series employs static water distribution system made of PVC pipes with multiple branch arms and PP splash caps for low pressure drop and uniform distribution of water throughout the fill area.
The water cooling is obtained with counter current system, i.e. hot water falling down splashing and fractioning through the picking/filling in a myriad of drops while the air stream is on its way up. A very effective heat exchange is reached by this mean.

Material Used in Cooling Tower
COOLING TOWERS: Direct access to internal part helping easy maintenance and repair which is negligible. Special composition or raw material in making FRP cooling towers are selected to withstand corrosion, resistant to water borne bacteria and organisms as well as to most of the chemical and is light in weight which permits roof installation without special reinforcement of any kind – vertical induced draft counter flow design permits installation in any direction with freedom-consumes less power (energy) overall because of less air resistance to water theory saving in operational costs-available in various colors matching to exterior architectural beauty. A direct driven axial fan ensures the is free from problems faced with belt and gear drives.
FRP CASING: is made of selected grade material of tough Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester and resins etc. Additional embossing is done for extra strength incase of big cooling towers.
WATER BASIN: is completely leaking proof, which avoids spillage and seepage of water. It is of deep sump to ensure maximum water level at all times and made of FRP with additional stiffeners to take care of weight extra water.
SUPPORT AND HARDWARE: all components like tower supports, motor supports, leg supports etc. are either hot dip galvanized or Hot Dip Galvanized or epoxy coated. Hardware is galvanized steel. Stainless steel or PP hardware can be supplied on request at extra costs.
ELECTRIC MOTOR: Special low RPM totally enclosed motors of vertical, flange type with enlarged and threaded shaft and sealed top is supplied with the cooling towers. The Motors totally weather proof in IP 55 construction suitable for heated and humid atmosphere.
FIXED TARGETTED NOZZLES are used in the hot water basin, they are specially designed to deliver required water distribution and are highly resistant to temperature and weathering damage. The use of target nozzles also eliminates the need for separate diffusion deck to provide complete water distribution throughout the fill area. These nozzles operate under gravity
